When accessing our website,  www.liberbyte.com, the browser you use on your local device will automatically transmit information to the server of the Liberbyte website. This will be stored temporarily in a logfile. Information will be collected without any action on your part and will be held until it is deleted automatically. It comprises the IP address of the computer sending the request, the name and URL of the file accessed, the date and time of access, the referrer URL, the browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your local device and the name of your access provider. We will then process this information in order to ensure easy connection to and comfortable use of our website, to enable us to analyse system safety and stability and to allow us to use it for other administrative purposes. Art. 6(1) point 1 f GDPR constitutes the legal basis of data processing. Our legitimate interests derive from the purposes listed above. Liberbyte will never use the data collected to draw conclusions about your person.

Data Transfer

Liberbyte will not transfer your personal data to third parties for any but the purposes set out below. Your personal data will only be transferred to third parties if you have expressly given your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1) point 1 a GDPR or if such transfer is necessary in order to exercise, pursue or defend any legal right pursuant to Art. 6(1) point 1 f GDPR and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest in non-disclosure of your personal data since they require protection, or if a legal obligation exists pursuant to Art. 6(1) point 1 c GDPR, or if data transfer is permitted by law and is necessary for performing contractual relationships pursuant to Art. 6(1) point 1 b GDPR.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies. Cookies are small text files created automatically by your browser and stored on your local device as soon as you visit our website. Cookies are not viruses, Trojans or other malware. Each cookie contains information derived from the way you use your local device. However, they do not allow us to establish the identity of the person using a local device. Cookies enable us to improve your experience of using our website content to make it more user-friendly and effective. From time to time we use session cookies. These allow us to determine that you visited specific pages of our website before. When leaving our website they will be deleted automatically. Moreover, we use temporary cookies to optimise user experience. Temporary cookies will be stored on your local device for a set period of time. When revisiting our website you will not be required to repeat input and settings entered previously. We use cookies for statistical tracking of the use of our website. Evaluating this data allows us to optimise our website content. When revisiting our website, the cookies we use will automatically detect that you have accessed our website before. These cookies, too, will be automatically deleted after a set period of time. The data processed by cookies is required by us to pursue our legitimate interests as well as those of third parties pursuant to Art. 6(1) point 1 f GDPR for the purposes mentioned earlier. Cookies are automatically accepted by the majority of browsers. However, you may adjust your browser settings to prevent your computer from storing cookies or to alert you every time before creating a new cookie. Should you opt for complete deactivation of cookies you may find that you are unable to use all the functions available on our website.

Analysis Tools

Tracking Tools

In the following we list the tracking methods used by us. These are based on Art. 6(1) point 1 f GDPR. The tracking methods we use are intended to ensure that our website design meets user needs and is constantly optimised. On the other hand, our tracking methods allow Liberbyte to statistically capture the use of our website and evaluate this data to optimise our website content. These interests are deemed legitimate in accordance with the regulation mentioned earlier. Information on the various purposes of data processing and data categories is provided by the respective tracking tools.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to further enhance the design and constant optimisation of our website in line with user needs. Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. Pseudonymised user profiles and cookies are used in this context. For instance, a cookie will store the browser type/version, the operating system used, the referrer URL, the host name of the accessing computer and the time of the server request. This data will be transferred to a Google server located in the USA. We require this information in order to compile reports on website activity. In addition, other services relating to the use of our website and the internet will be provided for the purposes of market research and for designing our website in line with user needs. If necessary, this information will be transferred to third parties if required by law or if third parties are commissioned to process the data collected. On no account will this other data be correlated against your IP address in Google. Each IP address is processed anonymously, thus any correlation is impossible.

Every user has the option of preventing the installation of cookies by changing certain settings in their browser software. However, these settings may prevent users from making full use of the functions available on our website.

You also have the option of declining the information created in the cookie and its processing by Google. For this purpose you will need to download and install a browser add-on.

There is an additional option of preventing data collection through Google Analytics by using the link, https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gooptout. This is particularly recommended when using browsers on mobile devices. It will place an opt-out cookie and thus prevent future collection of your data on the Liberbyte website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in the browser where it has been placed and only relates to our website. It will be stored on your device. As soon as you delete the cookies in the respective browser you will need to reset the opt-out cookie.

Please see https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de for further information.

Google Adwords Conversion Tracking

We also use Google Conversion Tracking. Again, this helps Liberbyte to statistically capture and optimise the use of our website. If you have reached our website by means of a Google Ad, a cookie will be placed on your computer.

Any cookie placed will cease to be valid after a period of 30 days. Cookies are not used for personal identification. If users visit certain pages of an Adwords customer’s website and the cookie has not yet expired, both Google and the customer will be able to see that this user has clicked on the advertisement and been redirected to our site.

Each Adwords customer will be given a different cookie. This prevents cookies being traced via the websites of other Adwords customers. Data is also collected by means of conversion cookies. These are needed to compile conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. They allow the respective Adwords customer to establish the total number of users who have clicked on their advertisement and have been redirected to a site equipped with a conversion tracking tag. Again, this data does not contain any information allowing personal identification of users.

Here, too, you have the option of opting out of the tracking process. All you need to do is to decline the cookie that needs to be placed for the process. One way to do this is to change your browser settings accordingly. Moreover, you have the option of deactivating the cookies used for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain,www.googleadservices.com. The privacy statement on conversion tracking can be found at https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html.

Matomo

Finally, Liberbyte uses Matomo for analysis and statistical evaluation of our website. Matomo is an open source software and it, too, uses cookies. The data collected through use of our website is sent to our server and compiled. Pseudonymous user profiles are used for compilation. This information can be employed to analyse the ways in which our website is used. Again, this allows us to design the website in line with user needs. Data will not be transferred to third parties. In no event will user IP addresses be correlated against other data associated with them. This is achieved by anonymising IP addresses so as to make correlation impossible. If you wish to prevent your visit to our website from being captured by the Matomo web analysis please use the link, https://matomo.org/docs/privacy.

Social Media Plug-ins

Liberbyte uses social plug-ins provided by social networks. This is undertaken on the basis of Art. 6(1) point f GDPR in order to enable us to extend our reach. We are thus pursuing advertising purposes which are deemed a legitimate interest in terms of the GDPR. The respective providers must ensure that their operations comply with data protection regulations. In order to provide the best possible protection for you as a user of the Liberbyte website, integration of the plug-ins follows the double-click method.

Other links to other websites

We draw your attention to the fact that our website contains links to other websites not operated by Liberbyte. Clicking on such links will redirect you to the respective site. We are not responsible for the content of linked websites or their compliance with data protection regulations. Nor are we responsible for the security and data protection of the information you provide when clicking on such websites. Our privacy policy does not extend to these. We thus have no control of their respective content or the security of any website you may click on.

Pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR you have the right to obtain from us the restriction of processing if the accuracy of your personal data is contested by you, for a period enabling the controller to verify the accuracy of the personal data; the processing is unlawful and the data subject opposes the erasure of the personal data and requests the restriction of the use of their personal data instead; the controller no longer needs the personal data for the purposes of processing, but it is required by the data subject for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or if the data subject has objected to processing pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR pending the verification whether the legitimate grounds of the controller override those of the data subject. Pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR you have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to stipulate that we transmit this data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to whom the personal data has been provided. Your Right to Withdraw Consent

Insofar as your personal data is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1) f GDPR, you have the right to withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data. Such withdrawal must be based on grounds resulting from your particular situation or on an objection to direct advertising. Should you wish to exercise your right to withdraw consent, an email to info@liberbyte.com will suffice.
